How can we talk about sustainability standards in a clear, simple language? In 2009, the Pacific Institute proposed to develop a shared narrative for the sustainability standards community using cognitive linguistics. Over the following three years, the ISEAL Alliance, sustainability standards developers and experts from research institutes, civil society and intergovernmental organizations provided input into this process. This website documents the project results.
- Behind the Scenes. Read more about the project, including all background information, research and project reports.

- Frames for Sustainability Standards. Understand frames, metaphors and narratives for sustainability standards.
The tools introduced on this website can be used as an open-source tool to help the standards community explain and build support for sustainability standards.
